Child safety
Child Safety Standards
HECKLE is a social accountability app for friends. We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These published standards explain our rules, how users can report concerns, and how we respond.
Who HECKLE is for
HECKLE is intended for users 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account for a child under 13. Accounts that appear to involve under-13 use may be removed.
Prohibited conduct and content
Users may not use HECKLE to create, upload, share, solicit, link to, or otherwise distribute content that involves:
- Child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE)
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including fictional or AI-generated depictions
- Grooming, sexualization of minors, or solicitation of minors
- Any other content that endangers children
We also prohibit harassment, threats, doxxing, and other abusive behavior between users. Violations can result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
In-app reporting and blocking
HECKLE provides in-app tools so users can act quickly:
- Report a message — In a pact or crew chat, long-press someone else’s message, then choose Report and a reason (including child safety).
- Block a user — Long-press a message and choose Block, or open Friends, tap a person, and block them. Blocked users cannot reconnect through friend codes or invites.
- Support — Email support@lostsheepstudios.com with the account email, user handle if known, and what happened.
How we address CSAM and CSAE reports
When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM or CSAE on HECKLE, we take appropriate action, which may include:
- Removing or hiding the content
- Restricting or deleting the responsible account(s)
- Preserving relevant records as required for investigation and legal compliance
- Reporting confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional authority, as required by applicable law
- Cooperating with lawful requests from authorities
Reports involving child safety are treated as highest priority. We aim to review urgent safety reports as soon as reasonably possible.
Compliance with child safety laws
Lost Sheep Studios designs HECKLE’s policies and enforcement processes to comply with applicable child safety laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where we operate, including obligations related to CSAM reporting where they apply.
